Demetrios dresses. Is the ivory too yellow?

I have been shopping many different dress brands and I love a dress from Demetrios, but the ivory seems awfully yellow toned. Anyone else notice this or is it just me or bad lighting in store?

Most of my decor is ivory and the Demetrios ivory tone seems just a bit off to me. Not relaxing and creamy, but bright and yellow-toned.

If you have something of the ivory you're using in the decor that's small enough to bring with you, bring it to the store and compare.  That's really the only way to tell, if you have both items in the same lighting.

I'm debating b/w two dresses. One is a Demetrios Ultra Sophisticates dress. I've seen it at three bridal stores. Two stores claimed it was "ivory" and the third claimed their sample was "gold."

Clincher: ..... all three looked exactly the same to me.

If it is ivory, as the first two stores said, I agree with you, its WAY too yellow.

I have been unable to get a hold of a fabric swatch through the company (I told them I would pay whatever price). But had no luck.

If I go with that gown, I'll definitely be ordering it in white.

When we held up the 'ivory' dress to other ivory dresses it looked very yellow.

update: as far as your experience being poor. did you go to an actual demetrios salon? the closest one to me is about 4 hours away. i tried on gowns in regular bridal stores that sold mid-range gowns and everything was discolored, missing beads, broken zippers... thats just because of people trying them on so frequently, them being stepped on, people who don't fit into them trying to squeeze into them..

sorry you didn't have a good experience. only one of the salons i went to i felt like i wasn't being pushed and could actually stand around in the gown and no one was hovering over me. one of the stores (the first one i found the gown at) ripped out the labels so you had no idea who even made the gown. thankfully a search on the knot helped.
