  1. Cuba has dictatorship,

Not many countries have dictatorship because the UN will be all over them

Slowly Venezuela will be a dictatorship country with crazy Hugo Chavez, sheez what a loony

  2. There are more than a few variations on those options.

The CIA world fact book (first link below) has a listing of the nations of the world with their government types - along with the definitions (link 2).

Some of the nations are a bit hard to classify - for example, Islamic republics may be closer to theocracy (in essence an oligarchy) though still have republican mechanisms in place.

Also, there are a number of totalitarian states which are really more of oligarchies (rule by a small elite) rather than dictatorships (rule by one individual).   China is more of an Oligarchy, while Cuba would be a good example of a more traditional dictatorship.

I count over 100 democracies, republics, constitutional monarchies (such as England - where the monarch is a figurehead).

3-4 Kingdoms and emirates, and about a half-dozen or so communist states and dictatorships/Juntas.

Also a few that could be classified as 'other' (the Vatican, emerging democracies, etc)

  3. Why and who cares?

  4. There are 195 countries in the world.

Recognize that there are dozens of territories and colonies that are sometimes erroneously called "countries" but don't count at all - they're governed by other countries. Places commonly confused as being countries include Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Greenland, Palestine, Western Sahara, and even the components of the United Kingdom (such as Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England - they're not fully independent countries, states, or nation-states).

    These countries have non-democratic governments:

As for Democratic Govts... look at this list...http://www.state.gov/s/inr/rls/4250.htm

if you see "democratic republic of" for example... you get the idea.

    Hope that helped
