  1. Republicans don't oppose g*y rights, they oppose g*y marriage because they feel it's a sacred union between a man and a woman, as it should be... even some g**s oppose g*y marriage

  2. Views morals and values,  Rep- Everyone should do what we do; Dem- do you. Rep- pro-life, no stem cell research etc... Dem- pro choice, open to more research.

Health care - Rep keep our MD friends in the party. No social medicine; Dems-moving toward socialized medicine, which could severely decrease the amount of $$ MD's make. Education- Rep- live in a good neighborhood you get a good school, Dem- Everyone should have the same. War- Rep- stay to leave safely. Stay to get oil. Dems- too many kids have died, get out asap.

Stem cell - Rep that is murder; Dems- by any means necessary

    good luck

  3. Rebublicans on healthcare: get a job and pay for your own healthcare.  Government ran healthcare will be like anything else the government runs...expensive to taxpayers, and inefficient.

Democrats on healthcare: Let the government run it, and make sure that everyone has the same crappy care...even the wealthy.

Republicans on education: taxpayers will pay for a public education up to 12th grade, and provide grants for those in need up to 16th grade...but the individual needs to do their own work to succeed.

Democrats on education: spend the money on english as second language classes for illegal immigrant children, give the money to teacher's unions, and oppose any vouchers that give a poor family a way to get their child out of this mess.

Republicans on the war in Iraq: Win, win, win!

Democrats on the war in Iraq: Surrender, surrender, surrender!  Oh, and negotiate with terrorists...because they have good points and just need to be understood.

Republicans on stem cell research: let the private funds pay for the research, and if it turns out to be useful in repairing health, the market will pay for the work.

Democrats: stem cells from aborted babies are the best, and the way to get more stem cells is to abort more babies.  Even if a large portion of the population is offended by the idea of stem cell research, make them pay their taxes toward the research...the government should fund this research.

  5. do your own research.  dont trust what anyone tells you on yahoo answers.

  6. Democrat- A liberal would say that a proper role for government is to regulate and oversee the economy. Liberals say it's proper for government to ensure that companies do the right thing (such as pay minimum wages), and to ensure that people act responsibly in their finances that people shouldn't have to be responsible for themselves(such as requiring contributions to retirement savings).

A liberal believes in little restriction, when it comes to doing anything that you think is right or anything that you want to do, that things are morally relative, (as long as no one gets hurt)

Republican- A conservative would say that a proper role for government is to regulate and oversee morality. Conservatives say it's proper for government to ensure that people are punished for immoral acts (such as taking drugs), and that people act appropriately in their marriages (such as banning homosexual marriage), they also believe that people know how to spend their own money.

A conservatives has morals similar to a christian beliefs, believes on being tough on crime and that morality is not relative.

Democrats desire the government to take on a wider set of powers or to be involved with every aspect of life to make things fair.

Republicans desire government to have control of only a few things, military, limited economics, and some regulations, that the people themselves make the best choice.

  7. In theory Republicans are for a smaller federal government that is less intrusive on individual rights, less intrusive on state's rights, and is for lower spending and lower taxes.  They are considered to be more conservative, for example against abortion and for the teaching of christian church doctrine (Creationism) in schools.  Republicans tend to be wealthier and favor reduced taxes for the rich.

Conversely, in theory Democrats favor large federal government social programs like social security, welfare, and medicare that take care of everyone.  These programs come at a cost of higher taxes.  The Democratic candidates now favor nationalized healthcare for everyone, for example.  Democrats tend to be poorer and believe the rich should bare a bigger tax burden.

In practice, the parties identities have blured to the point of being unrecognizable.  The Iraq War - largely a Republican-driven fiasco has cost trillions of dollars (big government/high taxes).  The patriot act (republican idea) has eroded personal rights and personal privacy.

Anyway, ask 10 people this question and you'll get 11 conflicting answers.

  8. It's really too long to try to explain everything here, but...

In a nutshell, Democrats (Liberals) believe the government should play a bigger role in citizen's lives. They generally believe in higher taxes for the wealthy and lower taxes for everyone else. They're generally more social program oriented for the disadvantaged.

Republicans (Conservatives) favor less government in people's lives. Generally believe lower taxes are better. They favor a strong military and capitalism.

Those are the 2 major parties. There are smaller ones also, such as Libertarian, Constitution, and Green.

Each party has their own strong & weak points.

Check the websites below for more info as they tend to be the most unbiased and present just facts. You should also read each candidate's website. The absolute WORST thing to do is come here for political knowledge.

  9. Republican has better moral value in Christian point of view; they oppose abortion, g*y rights, same s*x marriage,.

Democract is based on the constitution then on religion view.

  11. I have too much to say and I'm tired of typing so I will sum it up.

Basically, Republicans like to tell people how to fish and how to get their fish so they know what to do if they want the fish.  Democrats want to skip all of that work, not learn anything, and have the fish handed to them no matter how much it would effect everyone else.

Democrats think everyone should get health care, all schools should be equally funded or no funding at all, and don't mind babies being killed before they experience life but are against the death penalty, which is for punishment and nothing else.  What Dems fail to realize is no where does it say in the Constitution Bill of Rights that everyone is entitled to health care and that all schools should be equally funded.  Also, by federal law, no hospital can refuse a law abiding citizen who wants treatment.  Dems like to make ridiculous claims or myths without having evidence to prove anything.

  12. In general:

    Health Care:

Democrats want universal health care for all Americans, and that means getting health insurance for the uninsured and lowering premiums and increasing benefits for those who already have it.  Republicans prefer that the health care system remain privatized, but that premiums remain low so that they can be affordable for all Americans.

    Education:

Democrats prefer tax credits for children who go to college and want the public schools to be properly funded; Republicans prefer school choice so parents can get their child to go to the best school they can, even if it means sending them to private school where they can use vouchers to help defray the cost.

    War in Iraq:

Democrats prefer that there be a timetable to withdraw US troops in Iraq within the next few years with the exception of some peacekeeping forces; and they want the Iraqis to be self sufficient ASAP; the Republicans prefer that combat troops remain in Iraq until it is determined by the US that Iraq is secure enough for the troops to leave, though they may be forced to a timetable given that this is what Iraq wants.

    Stem Cell Research:

Democrats want the federal government to use their funds to help research what the stem cells can do in terms for finding cures to cancer, Parkinson's Disease, and diabetes to name a few, regardless of their source.  Republicans do not want to use federal funds, because most stem cells come from test tube embryos, and this would be the equivalent of the murder of thousands of potential kids.

  13. This is a very complex issue.

Pretty much we all love this country, and care for or neighbors. It is also not so much the parties as much as Far left liberals, liberals, moderate liberal, moderate, right moderate, conservative, and far right conservative.

With many of the liberals they want the government to do most of the things. Education, social programs. However with this being said there is not the need to help people to have self reliance.

Conservatives want people to look out for one another, have more non government take care of people. Things like the YMCA, The Boy Scouts just to name a few of them. Food banks and feeding programs. Even Obama has said in dealing with the community that many times the quickest way to get help for people was through many of the faith based programs.

It kinda comes down to the old saying . If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day, but if you teach a man how to fish he will eat for a lifetime.

You would also have to look into some of the philosophies. Their have been many. One of them was marxism with brang about the communist system. With also had Socialism.  With that system the government was to control all industry, the churches where not allowed because of the values that it teaches, and also control the family if not eliminate it. With the theory it will make every one equal.

Moral values is looked down at as something that makes people unequal.

But you would have to do some more research into this.

  14. The real differences between the parties are more or less government.  Both represent a small area in the political spectrum; they are both liberal, although the Republicans lean right and the Democrats left.

Republicans = less government.  They prefer for individuals to be responsible for working their way up.  They want low taxes, more power to the local and state governments.  Generally less government intervention.  Big businesses are advocated, and taxes become low to promote job growth and prevention of outsourcing.  In short, the people run the country, not the government.

Democrats = more government.  More regulation on a federal level than on local or state level.  Federal programs such as social security and universal healthcare are advocated.  High taxes to pay for said programs.  The federal government should be held responsible for the citizens.  State and local governments should not be as strong or stronger than the federal government.

Notice there is NOTHING above that addresses social issues, including religion, stem cell research, abortion, etc.  You can be Republican and be pro-choice.  You can be a Democrat and be an evangelical Christian.  BOTH parties have major political figures that believe marriage is a union between a man and a woman!  Social stances are not what makes each party different.  The biggest and most important difference between the two are how powerful the federal government should be.
