WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Thursday approved $161.8 billion in new funds to continue fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for the next year, without timetables for withdrawing combat troops.

The House of Representatives passed an identical bill last week. President George W. Bush is expected to promptly sign the measure into law once he receives it from Congress.

  1. i think its really funny since not only did they pass it.  It was a DEMOCRAT CONTROLLED congress that passed it.  We're winning the war but it hasn't been won yet, so we have to continue fighting and to do that we have to have the money

  2. Dude, it takes money to kill people, so what you so unset about? It's kinda hard to put a timeline on when a war is going to stop, so you just keep paying for the war until you win the damm things.........or lose. You want to lose the war on terror?

  3. Doesn't bother me.  If we are not going to bring them home we have to support them.  I don't think anyone wants to cut off funding to our troops when  they are forced to be there.
