  1. He's a Democrat, Duh.

  2. He has the experience needed where Obama lacks. In the unfortunate instance that something were to happen to Obama, i'd be comfortable with Biden taking office.

I'd be terrified with Palin taking office.

  3. When he lost his wife and young daughter he was willing to give up the senate seat he just won to be in the hospital with this sons. They ended up swearing him in at the hospital next to his son's bed.

    That's pretty awesome!

  4. That he likes McCain and does not think Obama is ready to be president.  Or at least that is what he said earlier this year.  I am assuming he is not a liar.

  5. He's intelligent and knowledgable and is a no bs kind of guy. Watch the Democratic primary debates, he knows his stuff and beyond that, his personal story that others have talked about is really compelling.

I can't vote yet, but though I agree with Obama on the issues and like his plans, I was nervous about who he would pick, but with Biden, I was really happy.

  6. His post has always held him accountable for more than 7,000 people.

  7. Um... i will give you my favorites. He is just like a normal guy- and knows what it is like to be in the middle class. He has alot of experience, and is great with foreign policy. I'd go on but i really don't feel like it lol.

    OBAMA BIDEN 08

  8. He is the genuine article. Like Obama he is the real deal and has earned the respect of just about everybody in both parties.

  9. First off, I am an Independent.  As a female, I admire the fact that he got through losing his wife and child in a car accident.  While in office, he almost always came home every night using public transportation.  How many men in a high-profile job can say they put family just as high as their job?  I really admire that about him on a personal level.  I feel it says a lot about his character.

  10. He's got six inches on the Republican VP.

  11. He used asthma as his excuse to get out of military service.

  12. He has so many positives that I cannot pick just one!

    Obama/Biden!

  13. He has never been afraid to speak his mind.  He is like a pit bull when he fights for something he believes in.

He has served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, dealing with issues related to drug policy, crime prevention, and civil liberties. He is a long-time member and current chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and has worked on resolutions concerning the Yugoslav wars and Iraq

Biden is a long-time member of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, which he chaired from 1987 until 1995 and on which he served as ranking minority member from 1981office1987 and again from 1995 until 1997. In this capacity, he dealt with issues related to drug policy, crime prevention, and civil liberties. While chairman, Biden presided over two notably contentious Supreme Court confirmation hearings: Robert Bork in 1987 and Clarence Thomas in 1991.

Biden has been involved in crafting many federal crime laws over the last decade, including the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, also known as the Biden Crime Law, and the landmark Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (VAWA), which contains a broad array of measures to combat domestic violence and provides billions of dollars in federal funds to address gender-based crimes. In 2000, the Supreme Court ruled that the section of VAWA allowing a federal civil remedy for victims of gender-motivated violence exceeded Congress' authority and therefore was unconstitutional. Congress reauthorized VAWA in 2000 and 2005. In March 2004, Biden enlisted major American technology companies in diagnosing the problems of the Austin, Texas-based National Domestic Violence Hotline, and to donate equipment and expertise to it.

As chairman of the International Narcotics Control Caucus, Biden wrote the laws that created the U.S. "Drug Czar", who oversees and coordinates national drug control policy. In April 2003 he introduced the controversial Reducing Americans' Vulnerability to Ecstasy Act, also known as the RAVE Act. He continues to work to stop the spread of "date rape drugs" such as Rohypnol, and drugs such as Ecstasy and Ketamine. In 2004 he worked to pass a bill outlawing steroids like androstenedione, the drug used by many baseball players.

Biden's legislation to promote college aid and loan programs allows families to deduct on their annual income tax returns up to $10,000 per year in higher education expenses. His "Kids 2000" legislation established a public/private partnership to provide computer centers, teachers, Internet access, and technical training to young people, particularly to low-income and at-risk youth.

Biden serves on the following committees in the 110th U.S. Congress:

    Committee on Foreign Relations (chairman)

As chairman of the full committee Biden is an ex officio member of each subcommittee.

    Committee on the Judiciary

Subcommittee on Antitrust Competition Policy and Consumer Rights

Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs (chairman)

Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law

Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Refugees

Subcommittee on Technology Terrorism and Homeland Security

Caucus on International Narcotics Control (co-chairman)

  14. I'm a disgruntled Hillary supporter.  Obviously I'm not satisfied with the VP pick.   So what will I do?  I'm voting for McCain!  So I sing.....

Hillary don't preach, I'm in trouble deep

Hillary don't preach, I've been losing sleep

But I made up my mind, I'm voting for Johnny!

    I'm gonna vote for Johnny!

  15. Here's my take on Biden. When I first saw him during the Judge Thomas hearings, I thought he was a former used car salesman. Hair transplants and the fake teeth.

I have since listened to him on some talk shows and he's not so bad. He knows the game and he's in tune with what wins. I have learned to accept him.
