Democrats and Communists, is there a difference?

here is a list of ten statements in the communist manifesto- 1. Expropriation of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive tax.

3. Abolition of all right of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of transport in the hands of the State.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of wastelands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with industry, promotion of the gradual elimination of the contradictions between town and countryside.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Whats dif.?

Communists don't support a progressive tax structure since under communism, everyone would make the same amount of money, which shows how little you know.

If you read the Democratic Party's platform, you'll find that the Democrats don't support any of those statements, except for free public education, which predates communism and is supported by the Republican Party as well. So I guess there's a huge difference. But I have to go on facts and logic and not dogmatic partisan drivel like you.  Have a nice day.

The Democrat party of J.F.K. would soil their pants if they could see what has become of their party, do any of them remember who said " ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" ?

well some of that is happening under the republican administration right now, and yes some democrats want that too. But most of that is not sought after by either party.

there may be some VERY vague similarities with some of these... but it's not even in the same ballpark...

it's like comparing Guantanamo Bay to Hitler's concentration camps... sure they have some things in common... but only a fool couldn't tell the difference...
