Question:

Democrats are lying about oil production times and effects. Why don't they wish us to understand the truth

Oil companies are majority owned by a lot of average people with stock in a retirement fund. Rich oil men? That's just the face democrats put on this so their pawns will identify Rich Oil as villainous, just another lie.

Why would oil companies lie about production? We all want the same thing, which is production. Oil companies don't make a thing unless they strike oil. That eliminates any possible motive for them to lie about it. They point to past efforts, and how long they took. Those are facts, not manipulations and disinformation as the democrats are using.

  1. The US Energy department say the exact same thing. Look it up.

  2. Democrats aren't lying, they're just spinning the facts to suit their particular policy positions.  Which is the same thing you're doing.  Or the same thing the people from whom you're getting your facts are doing.

  3. One political party proposes a short term solution to the oil shortage

The other proposes a plan that will get the US off of its oil addiction completely.

Now, which plan do you prefer and which party do you think advocates that solution?

  4. They are lying about all of this because they are democrats and their life long dream is to ruin this country and any political party that gets in the way!!!  that is why Republicans are getting ruined by the democrats!!!  The Republicans are trying to save this country!!!

    VOTE McCain '08

  5. I have wondered the same thing myself.  Though I have quoted the idea that we will not see an instant effect I also think 10 years is incredibly pessimistic. I used to live in Galveston and I have seen rigs go up off shore. I have no idea how long they spent prospecting but the actual installation of a rig doesn't take years.

Could you address the question of unused off shore areas that the oil companies currently have access too?  To me that is the more compelling argument.  If they have access to oil rich areas that they are not using then it makes little sense to open more areas before they have a demand for them.

The truth is I haven't heard of the oil companies asking for more off shore areas.  I also haven't seen any evidence that rigs are sitting idle waiting for permission to go off shore.  I suspect that the oil companies have all the rigs they want off the shores of other countries that don't have environmentalist harassing them and don't have the risk of high cost if there is an incident. I don't know that they want to put more rigs off America's shores whether they have permission or not.

  6. It is not just the democrats. It is the big oil companies and the rich oil men that are lying.

  7. The Truth? It's simple, but democrats have such support in the media they can say whatever they want, as provably wrong and obviously dishonest as they want and it is reported as a difference of opinion and then it's put out as it's assumed that all opinions carry the same weight. The media is accomplice to deliberate lying on the part of the democrats on a number of issues, and joe q public getting news from the media can't know any better unless he investigated for himself, and puts the time into it the media won't do if the liar is a democrat.

THEY LIE BECAUSE THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.

What is the motive? It's pretty obvious if you watch how all this stuff works. The democrats want to discredit anything republican and they are doing a smear campaign against republicans as well as deliberately sabotaging every effort our country makes, so they can point at the Bush Administration and say "failed" it's their new buzz word, defining the propaganda they not only push, but work to create.

The War is a good example, anyone who really looks into all the happenings and who said and did what knows the war was pushed by the democrats, or most of them even more strongly than republicans. It's also obvious how the democrats turned on the war for political purpose, worked to use it for propaganda, and even sabotage the effort.

There are many examples of how the democrats and the press have reported inaccurately and refused to report things that prove the democrats were lying or pushing for failure for propaganda reasons. The investigation of the Valory Plame thing for instance, driven by the political dirty trick by Joe Wilson and Clinton appointed factions in the CIA. There was never a crime, The prosecutor Fitzgerald knew who so called "outed" Valory, and knew there was nothing to "out". He told Armatage to be quiet about his actions for 3 years while they ran a scam investigation designed to influence the elections for the democrats and try to put someone in jail to put a taint on the Bush Administration. A conviction of a republican in Washington DC courts is like the conviction of a civil rights leader in Mississippi in the 50s, there is no question that the people of DC would convict any republican of anything regardless of evidence or lack of a crime or anything, just as the people of Mississippi would have a civil rights activist in the 50s.

Put that with the fact that the democrats do better in a down economy, where people are dependent on the government. Any economist worth a darn understands that higher taxes lead to a slower economy, less for the people, and less tax revenue once the effect settles in around 2 years later. High taxes don't bring in more revenue past the first couple of years, and they never have. Lower taxes have always resulted in more revenues, always, so why raise taxes? It's not about revenue, it's about governmental power via control of resources. Any argument against that is either ignorant, or dishonest.

So, why would the democrats lie about oil realities in order for us to stop drilling and getting more supply? Take a wild guess ... ok, for those slow people out there it's:

    1. To damage our economy, because that is where their power lies.

    2. To damage our economy so they can point to Bush as say the economy was bad on "his watch", and so gain power.

That is what this is about.

  8. Dude, the Alaska pipeline didn't change the price of oil and nether will this. We're being played, get use to it.

  9. The US department of energy said specifically that they "thought" it wouldn't have an effect on prices for years, but when questioned, said they had insuffiencient data to be sure. So, that leaves who do you believe, the experts that the corrupted left put up there, or the Texas oil men the right put up.

The left wing scientist have their reputation and livelyhood to consider. If they are proven wrong again, they will never be able to stand up and cry wolf again. So, if we start drilling, and the price comes down, the are left looking like an idiot again. It is much safer, and easier, to just pay Pelosi what ever her going rate is, and block the bill.

Texas oil men have a reputation for not caring what you think. Around here, our word is worth more then your approval. Texas doesn't have to abide by the same rules everyone else has to. We were our own country, and can be again (without the approval of the US congress). We never stopped drilling, we just slowed down because the Saudi's ran the price down. When the price went up, we fired up our pumps. We have several rigs drilling off our OCS, and hundreds drilling inland.

The question is, does the rest of the country want to join in on our party, or attend another s****. liberal think tank.

Oh, by the way, gas here in Texas is under $3.50 a gallon. And, that's without the congressional ban lifted. How much is it there?
