Demolition Derby (what do I need to know to enter)?

I've always wanted to enter a demolition derby (young boy desire). I thought why not pick up a $100-200 beater and enter this year.

I would say I'm a good driver, but I'm not mechanical at all (do I need a pit crew) or can I just go solo?

Any advice?

There is a lot of prep work that needs to be done.You can pick up the rules for the demo derby at the race track or the organizers of the fair.  If you are not mechanically inclined or don't know much about cars this will be a daunting task. Once at the demo derby you only have to fix the car if you advance to the championship round. It can be done alone but it's much easier with help.
