yesterday i went to visit my prof. from college and i told him that i have decided to go to a graduate school: he said that the school i chose is not a good school.

I feel now demotivated, i no longer know if what i'm doing is right, if i will make it. I was so happy because i'd have been the first in my family to get a graduate degree....

i'm sad

  1. thats one persons opinion.... if that school u chose was really bad it wouldn't be open.... don't let anyone rain on your parade.

  2. Did your prof said that he didn't like the school, rather that the fact that you were going to a graduate schoo?  Because if so, then he is not opposed to you going, it's just the choice of school. Your choices will be different to anyone elses though so don't worry too much if it's where you want to go. You could always ask him why he doesn't like the school and discuss it with him. But if you can imagine yourself going there and you want to get a graduate degree, it sounds like your mind is already made up! I know the feeling when you're really looking forward to something then someone is too negative or says something and it puts you off but you've just got to do what feels right and what makes you happy :)

  3. First Cheer up.

How does one judge a college.?

your professor is not he only person for opinion. try to get some more opinions from others.

Second do some self research on what your college professor told you.

Go  and find some sucess records and history of that college.

Find out yourself whether the college has any black mark....

then decide for yourself whether you want to continue or not.

Again , if you have paid your fees then you have to think about it twice.

Dont waste your parents money. think of people who do not even have the opportunity to study. It does not mean that good college will give good education. it depends on the individual student who actually enters the college. If you are prepared to do hardwork and score highest marks then no college or no professor can stop you from reaching your goal...

we ourselves are the best motivaters. there is none other better motivating factor. if youbelieve in yourself and your hardwork , i am sure you can survive any circumtances in a successful manner.

hereafterwards dont go back to your previous school for anything. go to people who are postive speakers.....school is over.  this is Graduation. you are grown up.. Grow  up... Good luck. God bless you.

  4. Do not let it bother you. He is probably partial to the school he graduated from and the school he is currently employed at. Finish your degree and be happy.
