Tottenham Hotspur summer signings Clint Dempsey and Gylfi Sigurdsson are delighted by the team’s improved form and insist that they can push on and finish the season on a high.
Both players grabbed an assist in the 0-3 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage last week. Tottenham have truly recovered after a poor and slow early November. The club had been on a run of 3 successive defeats, but managed to recover and go on to win the
next three games.
The win against Fulham puts Tottenham at 4th spot, level on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and West Brom, who are in 3rd and 5th positions respectively.
Last week’s victory over Fulham marks Tottenham’s third successive win in the Premier League. After a mixed and inconsistent start to the season, it looks like the North London club has finally found its rhythm, and it could not have come at a better time.
With the holiday season approaching, teams are set to face congested fixtures lists and busy weeks, and Tottenham’s form can go a long way in helping them secure a top 4 finish.
Dempsey and Sigurdsson both arrived in the summer transfer window and took their time in settling in. However, now it looks as if both players are getting comfortable at the club, and settling into their roles just fine. Both the midfielders grabbed an assist
each in Saturday’s game, with Dempsey playing a vital role in the victory.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Dempsey said:
“We were able to open the game up in the second half and it was good to help the team win by getting an assist for Jermain. He had a great first touch and he’s so clinical in front of goal. It’s great to have a player of his quality.”

“When I came on it was 0-1 and I wanted to help us finish the game off. I managed to get the assist and was delighted to see Jermain score. That made it 0-2 and a little more comfortable. Jermain then scored the third.”
