Tottenham Hotspur summer signing Clint Dempsey believes that the club is capable of having a special season after Spurs grabbed their fourth consecutive victory in the Premier League.
The American international moved to Tottenham just minutes before the close of the transfer window, arriving from Fulham on a deadline day deal.
Tottenham have truly bolstered their attacking options by signing Dempsey, and his added Premier League experience will go a long way in helping the club finish in the top 4.
Fresh from four straight wins, the North London club has silenced all its doubters. Manager Andre Villas-Boas, who arrived in the summer following an unsuccessful spell as Chelsea manager had already been written off as a failure, especially when he failed
to win any of the opening three games.
However, the manager has now led his club to 4 consecutive wins in the league and an undefeated streak in the Europa League tournament. Recently, Tottenham emerged victorious in a rare and surprising 2-3 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford,
their first in nearly 23 years.
Clint Dempsey is confident that the club will have a successful season this year as long as they keep play consistently.
Dempsey opened his Spurs scoring account by striking home the third goal in the 2-3 victory against Manchester United, helping his side to the historic win. Talking to the press, the player said:
“It’s been good, we’re happy with the results we’ve been getting and the run of form that we’re on, although we’re still trying to put together two strong halves.”
“The fans are used to seeing good football and seeing the positive results, and it’s our http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 to give that to them because we have the quality to do it. I think we’re showing that and we are getting results, but we’ve got to keep it going.”
“We’ll have to see as the season goes on what level we are really at, but I think we have the quality to do something special.”
Tottenham will host European champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at home when the Premier League resumes next week. Manager Andre Villas-Boas will be looking forward to a victory over his former employers and fifth consecutive win in the league.
