Tottenham Hotspur summer signing Clint Dempsey has set his sights on ending http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s winning run when the Blues visit White Hart Lane this Saturday.
The American forward is hopeful that Spurs can continue their winning run at the cost of Chelsea’s, and is confident of facing the European champions when they travel to White Hart Lane this Saturday when the Premier League resumes.
The striker believes that their home advantage will shift things in their favour and help them edge out on their London rivals.
Chelsea have not lost a game in the Premier League this season, and currently sit at the top of the table with 19 points from 7 games. The Blues started off the season in fine form, and look good in all areas of the pitch. Chelsea have scored 15 goals and
conceded only 4; the lowest number in the league so far.
Tottenham have also been very impressive of late, finally managing to kick start their season under new manager Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese had been unable to win any of his first three opening games in the league, but has now led Tottenham to 4 consecutive
wins.
Spurs recently managed a popular and historic win against former English champions Manchester United at Old Trafford in a 2-3 score line; their first away win against United in nearly 23 years. Villas-Boas will be looking forward to keeping this up as he
eyes victory.
The former Chelsea boss will be aware of the importance of the game as he looks to upset his former employers. However, with Chelsea’s formidable line-up, he faces no easy task.
Dempsey, who scored his first Spurs goal against United, is looking forward to the game and is hopeful of his team’s chances. He said:
“It is going to be an important game because the table is so tight. You have to take care of your home games and try and get as many results as you can.”
“We want to continue this run of positive results so we know it is going to be a tough test but we are all excited, and we have everyone back from fitness now and we are looking to make the most of this game.”
