Denarius Moore’s return to practice gives boost to Oakland Raiders – NFL News
The Oakland Raiders who face the Detroit Lions this Sunday finally have some good news and that is the return of receiver Denarius Moore to practice.
Moore was back to practice on Wednesday and Thursday though only on a limited basis. Quarterback Carson Palmer was pleased with the receiver saying he was looking good.
Moore had been sidelined since three games after he injured his right foot. His return gives a significant boost to the depleted Raiders team who have already sustained a big loss by losing two more of their key players to injury.
Running back Darren McFadden has been out of action since Oct. 23 when he developed a foot sprain while playing against the Kansas City Chiefs. Though Hue Jackson recently said he does not require a surgery and would be back soon,
there seems no early chance of his return. The other key player missing is receiver Jacoby Ford. Ford who injured his left foot has been off the field for over a month and is yet to practice.
The absence of these three players has battered the offense of the Raiders. Coach Hue Jackson was pleased but talked of the need for a team to work as a whole. He also did not come up with a time frame for Moore’s return, thus
putting uncertain the status of Moore.
"I think any time you get one of your playmakers back, it gives you a tremendous boost. Again, this is going to be a football team game. It won't be just one guy. One guy can't change where we need to be. It's got to be our team."
Jackson said.
The Oakland Raiders are faced with a must win scenario to keep high their playoff chances as they also look forward to avoid a third straight loss. They have also committed the most number of fouls this season along with the Detroit
Lions; the number standing at 27. They mostly rely on their running game and hence Carson Palmer would need to come forward and do the needful.
Though Palmer has been hit hard with the McFadden’s absence, he tried sounding brave by suggesting that the team should not be affected by injuries.
