Deng Xuan punishes Li Han in Women’s Singles quarter-final at Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold
China’s talented player Deng Xuan proved her mettle on court and secured her berth in Women’s Singles semi-final after crushing her higher ranked compatriot Li Han in quarter-final contest of Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 on Friday, November 30,
in Macau.
The un-seeded Xuan showed a wonderful performance in the arena as she played with remarkable precision and managed to overpower her third seeded team-mate Han in a dominating manner.
Xuan was in remarkable form as she did not show any sign of confusion while playing against a seeded player and remained successful in winning the match in a scintillating manner with a dominating margin on the board.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Han played with tremendous precision in the arena but failed to elevate her game when it mattered most and eventually lost the match to her un-seeded challenger without taking any set.
In the first game, Xuan showed her aggression on court without showing any respect to her third seeded challenger in the opening points and built a huge pressure.
The wonderful speed of rallies was quite fast in first set and Xuan impressed local crowd with her unparalleled craft.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Xuan showed a great performance and remained in strong position without getting intimidated by her experienced opponent.
The match proceeded in a narrow fashion after the one-minute interval as both shuttlers played positive and aggressive badminton.
However, Xuan remained consistent in employing powerful strokes in the ending points and she won the opening game with a close margin of 21-19.
In the second game, the higher ranked Han tried her best to dominate the pace of rallies but she failed to create pressure on her spirited opponent.
In the meanwhile, Xuan impressed the crowd with her lofty skills that assisted her to maintain her upper hand in the arena and she took a wonderful lead until the break.
After the interval, Xuan stayed fully focused all the way and claimed the second set with a crushing 21-14 margin on the score board.
The in-form Xuan managed to win this quarter-final clash in straight games in a tremendous fashion with a convincing total of 21-19 and 21-14.
