Denied for Countrywide loan. What can I do?

Me and my husband are first time home buyers and do not have a lot of credit, and he is paying off some student loans. We were pre-approved for $150,000 with Wells Fargo for FHA financing. Then we put an offer in on a home that we liked, and they came back saying that we have to apply for a loan with Countrywide, whether we use them or not (the foreclosure is represented through Countrywide). Well Countrywide denied us. The realtor says we can still submit the denial from Countrywide with the approval from Wells Fargo...but do we have a chance in h**l of our offer getting approved now?
