Arsenal’s Denilson could be leaving the club in the upcoming January window.
The youngster has drawn interest from Wolfsberg and reportedly, Barcelona. Denilson has fallen out of favour with Arsene Wenger in recent times and has struggled to make it into the starting line-up. The Arsenal manager prefers to play Alex Song and Jack
Wilshire instead of the 22-year-old. Lack of first-team action might be the deciding factor for Denilson as he contemplates his future at the Emirates.
Denilson started his career at his hometown club Sao Paulo. He won the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup and 2005 Copa Libertadores with the club. In his time at the Brazilian club, Denilson made just twelve appearances. In 2006, he was spotted by Arsenal scouts
and was signed by Arsene Wenger in August of the same year.
Denilson recently spoke out about his plans saying, “I am presently happy with Arsenal, but I am a professional player and I can never discard anything in my future.”
Since joining Arsenal from Sao Paulo in 2006, Denilson has failed to establish himself as a mainstay in the Premier League. Mixed performances and niggling injuries have prevented the youngster from playing in the first team on a regular basis. With the
arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 and Jack Wilshire, Denilson finds it even more difficult to break into the starting eleven, often being relegated to the bench.
German club Wolfsberg are reportedly offering 13 million Euros for the youngster’s services. The offer might be too good for Arsene Wenger to turn down, especially since he has plenty of other options in midfield.
However, Denilson might be more interested in a move to Barcelona. The Spanish giants are reportedly preparing an offer of 10 million pounds for the player to increase their options in midfield. Barcelona are reportedly put off by the price of Cesc Fabregas
and are looking to his teammate Denilson to bolster their squad. Arsene Wenger might cash in on the 22-year-old to strengthen his own squad during the January transfer window.
