Denilson wants to ‘stay’ a Gunner
Arsenal’s number 15, Denilson, has set the record straight regarding speculation over his future with the North London club, stating that he wishes to remain at the club.
Recently, La Liga leaders Barcelona FC were understood to be interested in the versatile midfielder. It was argued that the potential move looked a mutually viable option for both parties – The Catalans want more cushion in the centre of their midfield with
a lot of reliance on Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta while the Arsenal man has struggled to get game time at his present club.
However, while the media was prepared to brand it as a readymade marriage, the Arsenal midfielder has squashed the build up as he claims that he has no desire to move away from England.
Via his Twitter page, the midfielder simply stated:
“I want to stay at Arsenal…”
The revelation brings two varying arguments.
Firstly, with the emergence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804. Wilshere’s pace and playmaking ability enables Cesc Fabregas to play higher up the field and have more influence
in the final third. The proposed system could also be seen as a means of giving the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under 21 to develop faster seeing the persistent speculation regarding Fabregas’ future. This in turn, further slims down Denilson’s chances of featuring in Wenger’s
starting eleven and seeing that the Brazilian is effectively a senior member of the squad, playing in secondary cup ties such as the Carling Cup reflect poor growth since making his move from his native league.
On the contrary, however, moving to Barcelona doesn’t reflect much game time either. The Spanish giants already have a bunch of star performers that would ideally be Guardiola’s first preference come any major game. Secondly, Barcelona has been a taboo for
Arsenal players in the past. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918 left the Guners in 2007 for the Catalans and lost his place not only as a central striker but also as captain of the French team. Alexander Hleb, a regular starter for Wenger, arguably had to kiss his prospects goodbye
as Barcelona merely used him as a bench warmer. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849 international presently finds himself on loan to Birmingham City – Not at all a step forward from the Champions League playing, top four club that he left behind.
Putting an end to the media gossip, it is evident that Denilson wants to be a part of Arsenal’s long term plans and is willing to fight for his place.
