Denisa Allertova trounces Marie Benoit to enter title-round – Antalya ITF 2012
Czech qualifier, Denisa Allertova, outshined the Belgian Challenger, Marie Benoit, in straight sets at the Antalya ITF 2012 on Sunday. She recorded a 6-3, 7-5 victory against the 17-year-old to secure a place in the final showdown at this ITF (International
Tennis Federation) Women’s Circuit event taking place in Antalya, Turkey.
The underdog displayed brilliant tennis to shock the Belgian in their first encounter. After earning the fame in almost one hour and 15 minutes, Allertova comfortably booked a place in the title-round at this outdoor clay court tournament.
Allertova made a convincing entry at the Go Tennis Academy. She drew the first blood in the second game and leaped to a 3-0 lead. The Czech then held her composure and swiped remaining serves, eventually sealing the opener by winning six games to three.
She brushed off all three breakpoints she came across and converted one out of three break opportunities to her advantage.
Ranked 624th in the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) Premier Rankings, Allertova kept momentum rolling in the following set. She exchanged two serve breaks and levelled the scores in the eighth game. The Czech got the breakthrough in the last
game and eventually clinched the set with a 7-5 score line.
The 19-year-old is in great run of form in this event. She stunned top seed Anastasiya Vasylyeva, in straight sets to reach this spot.
Allertova secured a quarter-final berth at the Prague ITF event last season. However, she has not reached far after that tournament.
Next up for Allertova is the Serbian contender, Natalija Kostic, in the final round. She crushed the Swedish qualifier, Ellen Allgurin, in straight sets to set up this meeting.
The Serb made quick in-roads with a single break of serve in the opening set. She held her entire serves with conviction and eventually sealed the opener by winning six games to four.
Kostic maintained her intensity in the following set. After Allgurin held her serve in the fourth game, the Serb unleashed her skills and went on a four-game tear.
Overall, Kostic cashed three out of seven break chances and dusted away all four breakpoints she came across to rule this match.
