Denmark v Japan half time report
Denmark 0 Japan 2
Two stunning free kicks have put Japan on the verge of qualifying for the last 16 of the World Cup in Rustenburg.
Keisuke Honda crashed in the opening goal from 30 yards out, as his dipping, swerving left footed shot flew past Thomas Sorensen in the 17th minute.
Japan doubled their advantage from another free kick on the half hour mark, as, when the Danish wall were expecting another Honda attempt, Yasuhito Endō stepped up and curled a right footed effort around the wall and into the bottom corner.
The Japanese deserve their lead, and have been more attacking and dynamic than their European opponents.
Captain Jon Dahl Tomasson has gone close twice for the Danes, who were also indebted to a fine Sorensen save to deny Daisuke Matsui.
