The ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers continued on March 16, with the second match of the fourth day held between Group A teams Denmark and Netherlands, at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Global Cricket Academy Ground No 2 in Dubai.
The Netherlands successfully chased a target of 118, and clinched a 7-wicket win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Denmark-c2884.
The Danish team won the toss and chose to bat. The batsmen, however, were unable to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Frederik-Andreas-Klokker-c58029 (12) and Shehzad Ahmed (8) falling after a mere 16-run opening stand. James Moniz was the highest scorer, remaining
not out with a contribution of 47 – the rest of the batting order crumbled under http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PW-Borren-c2225, with 3 for 14.
Denmark set up a target of 118, but their opponents cruised their way to 122, at the expense of 3 wickets, with 23 balls remaining. Opener Stephan Myburgh scored an unbeaten 55, and was joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/W-Barresi-c2773 (45) in claiming
the victory for their side. The Danish bowlers were powerless to restrict their opponents – only Basit Raja and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tom-Lexley-William-Cooper-c94199 back to the pavilion at 6.
Myburgh was declared the Player of the Match, for his match-winning knock.
The fourth match of the day was held between Group B teams Scotland and Oman, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, with the Scottish team claiming a 52-run win.

The former managed 30 before he was bowled out by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zeeshan-Ahmed-Siddiqui-c98579, but MacLeod scored an unbeaten 104, which won him the Player of the Match award and saw his team to the end of their innings with a total of 158. The only other batsman of note was Preston
Mommsen, who contributed 13 after which he was bowled out by Aamir Kaleem.
Oman were unsuccessful in their 159 chase, with the opening batsmen Siddiqui (6) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Amir-Ali-c43991, who managed 25 before being caught out off
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sharif-c89762 claimed two scalps each, enabling their side to restrict Oman to 106 in 18 overs – 52 runs
short of the target.
The teams will receive a day’s rest, and the next round of qualifying matches will resume on March 18 in the UAE.
