Denmark’s Henriette Koch and Lene Sommer happy after qualifying for 2012 Olympic Games
Fourth day of the 2012 470 World Championship featured some outstanding results at the end which made some certain shifts in the overall leader-board of the regatta.
At the conclusion of Day 4 proceedings, six nations in the Women’s fleet qualified for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games showing tremendous sailing skills.
The regatta leaders in the first two days, Denmark’s Henriette Koch and Lene Sommer were also able to qualify for the Olympics.
Meanwhile, in the overall standings of the championship, they failed to improvise according to the situation and tumbled down in the rankings. Currently they are on seventh podium with 45 points after sailing in eight races, including a discard.
Speaking to the local media, Sommer said that the weather conditions on Day 4 were quite tricky so it is still just about keeping cool and working hard.
She added that they still have five races left which can prove handy for them. In the end, they are feeling happy that they found the rhythm and did well in the last race.
The wind conditions on the fourth day were quite strong which made the fleet to wait for the winds to settle down and become moderate.
