Anybody know wot he is doing now? I will never forget the fight with Tommy "the hit man" Hearns it was a no knock down rule and the hit man had him on the deck I think? around 3 or 4 times in one round but he still got up. I am sure he also came back from the states with a championship belt with little or no recognition about the same time the country was going apeshit on one of the many occasions that Bruno got beat up .... typical backing of a loser

  1. good question,I remember the scrap with Hearns and the knockdown in rnd (7?)and what a punch it was to,it would have floored many heavyweights and kept them down,I think you'll get it on you tube, hearns knocked him down 7 times if I remember right,if you look at his fights with the Aussie Jeff Harding in the 80's you'll see what a brave and valiant fighter he was.As far as I know he lives back in his native Ghana although he was based in Hackney in London and before the fight at the Joe Lois centre against Hearns he was at the Kron gym in Detroit,USA.

  2. dennis went on to win light heavy title then have an awsome trilogy of fights vs Australian jeff hardman.  Dennis now trains people in England, as a personal trainer. (last i herd)

  3. what are you talking about

  4. Andries actually won the world light heavy title 3 times, i believe he was the first to do so as well!

He improved after losing his title to Hearns, he went to the Kronk gym and learned how to box properly.

He was always a down to earth guy, and a true pro.

I agree with you on the Bruno thing, we always seem obsessive about people who are either losers or not yet proven as champions. It annoys me that Amir Khan gets more publicity than established world champs like Clinton Woods and Junior Witter.

In fact Gavin Rees has achieved more than Khan, how much press coverage does he get?

  5. The Hackney Rock is now a trainer in the UK
