Andrei Arshavin’s agent denies his client’s Russian Premier League return and expressed his views on potential Lokomotiv Moscow transfer target, Lukas Podolski.
With just seven days remaining in the January transfer window, Dennis Lachter has ruled out Arsenal FC winger Andrei Arshavin’s potential move back to Zenit St. Petersburg.
Lachter, who is Arshavin’s representative at the moment, revealed that the North London Club does not want to sell their prized asset during this transfer window despite news suggesting that the Russian Cup winner has fallen out
with Arsene Wenger.
He revealed that the English outfit would not let go of the Russian national on cheap and admitted that Arsenal would find it difficult to find his replacement.
“I am sure that in the winter transfer window Arshavin will not move away from the Emirates stadium. Arsenal are in crisis after losing out on the top four position and they will not agree to let him go now.” Lachter was quoted
as saying.
Arshavin has failed to claim a starting berth this season, losing out his position to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715. The aforementioned players were signed from Southampton and Everton respectively during the start of
the 2011/12 English Premier League campaign.
However, the Russian midfielder still believes he can win the competition for places after the departures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 respectively.
"Right now I don't think about changing clubs. If I will be benched for a very long time, then such an issue might be relevant,” Arshavin said
Aside from Arshavin’s transfer, Lachter has also expressed his views on Lokomotiv Moscow’s potential transfer target, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896, during this transfer window.
"This transfer can happen. Podolski is in fine form and he is a key figure in the German national team.” Lachter said.
Lachter went on to admit his surprise on the German national’s move to an average Bundesliga club, FC Koln, and revealed that the former Bayern Munich striker have all the attributes to succeed in the Russian Premier League.
Podolski is in fine domestic form, having scored 14 goals in 17 league outings.
