After ending his association with the MRF Pace Academy, former Australian bowling great, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dennis-Keith-Lillee-c53639, has decided to take coaching in cricket a step further by introducing his ambitious online coaching project.
Expressing his desire to continue his work as a coach, the 63-year-old called has initiated the ‘Dennis Lillee online coaching for fast bowling’, which will become the first ever online experience for fast bowlers around the world, aided by state-of-the-art
website with high-definition setup and facilities to view images in slow motion.
The former right-arm fast bowler is his country’s third-highest Test wicket-taker with 355 scalps in 70 matches. Three years after retiring, the former pace man took up the role of coaching director at the MRF Pace Academy, a role he kept for 25 years, which
richly contributed to his skills as a coach.
Discussing various aspects of his project, the former pace man explained that his innovative coaching endeavour would assist both budding and international players as well as extending an advisory role for the Cricket Boards.
"The coaching methods will be set out in different segments like advising in coaching for the masses, individual coaching for players who are already representing their countries. Also coaching for cricket academies in the world and assisting Cricket Boards,”
Lillee added.
He further explicated that the project would use a software to analyse and examine the minutest of details of a bowler from his run-up to his bowling action, and delivery of the ball.
Lillee however, said that the coaching classes won’t be for free as it would require a pool of specialists with technical expertise to assist the bowlers.
"I will have a team of experts on my board on coaching online. I will be doing a lot of talking to the bowlers who seek advises. That is what I am taking in doing now since I have stopped with coaching physically with MRF and other ventures," the 63-year-old
further added.
The former great said that the purpose of the entire idea is to share his knowledge and reach out to people in order to help them become worthy bowlers.
"Realistically speaking, I have come to a stage where I am ready to give fresh ideas,” Lillee concluded.
