  1. bad because he had been the winning the wodden spoon for too long.

  2. I really like Dennis and was never happy he went to Carlton but I do harbour some doubts. If he were still with Carlton, the Roos would not even enter his thoughts. I think you need to have all of your effort, enthusiasm and passion for one team and not just go for whatever is on offer when something else has not worked out.

  3. Good for them to bring back a TWO-TIME Kangaroos premiership coach to the club, will benefit the club and supporters

  4. I think its bad

He was at the club during there most successfull years and a few years later the place is in trouble, the framework for the future should have been put in place during his premiership winning era. If they couldn't do it then what makes it likely that he will change things around now? The only success he had at Carlton was that they "won" there first ever wooden spoon. For him to put conditions on joining the board shows that he is not flexible, at least he was honest and up front about it. He should be happy with what he achieved at North Melbourne  and gracefully retire. I think he is a football dinosaur.

  5. Absolutely fantastic, As a 2 time premiership coach, why would you not want to have him around the  the club, just  for his EXPERIENCE  alone.   Those who think he would interfere with Laidley , don't know coach's, they are supportive of each other, knowing how tough the job is

and I love all the girls saying  they love DENNIS! sounds so nice

  6. WOOOO HOOOO!!!!

    I Love Denis.

He was a brilliant coach for the Kangas.

I was spewing when he left.

He is better off with us...he's heart has always been witht he Kangaroos,it showed at how c**p Carlton were.

  7. The Roo's are going north!

  8. What are the circumstances of his return should it take place?

Is it on a voluntary basis - or is he just chasing a quid? Even if on no great salary the board members of AFL clubs receive extraordinary concessions & perks.

He was only too happy to abandon the club when they were spiralling downwards - & that was for a quid.

I think he'd jump at any position involving being associated with ANY club - after being given the flick by Carlton, & no-one else wanting him.

They've got enough old has-beens about the club - get some new blood.

  9. Dennis has had his day, let some young blood come up with a few ideas.

Dean Laidleys' position could look a bit shaky, if Pagan was around the Kangas.

He should go where Sheedy went.

                     "RETIREMENT"

  10. oh thats great news - definately an asset to the Kangas if they stay in Melb and Dennis joins the board.

Fingers crossed it all works out for the Kangas and Dennis - we need them to stay in Melbourne where they belong!

  11. Well he might remember what it was like to be around the club when it was winning, what he received as a coach etc.  That might allow him to develop some strategic thinking instead of what looks like hopscotch in a nuthouse now.

All this rubbish about how broke they are doesn't wash with me.  The Cats were $8.4 million down (double the Roo's worries).  Costa hasn't made friends but the Board has driven the strategy (as they're meant to do) and they're well into the black - it requires thinking and vision to get the stands full again.

  12. i think its good for the roos
