Denon 3300 Fan Workaround?

Question

I am using a Denon 3300 in a 2-channel setup and find the fan (which begins cycling on and off around 45 minutes after startup) to be really annoying. In addition the metal case clicks as it expands with the heat. My question is this: If I attach a power amp to the "pre-out" connection and use only the 3300 pre-amp, will the heat/fan issues go away? Would the pre-amp section generate enough heat to trigger the fan? Thanks for any input.
