My teacher gave our class a few solids and we found their densities and are supposed to identify them, so i am wondering if any of you could possilbe give an idea of what each one may be. Thanks.

1. DENSITY: 4.991 g/cm3 (about 5)

2. DENSITY: 5.25 g/cm3 (about 5.3)

3. DENSITY: 9.8 g/cm3

4. DENSITY: 3.163 g/cm3 (about 3.2)

Thanks.

  1. They are probably all various metals.  Try looking for those densities on this page:

    http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/metal-...

(To change the densities on the web page to densities in units of g/cm^3, just divide them by 1000).
