Question:

Dental/Gum/Mouth work without Dental Insurance....?

Is there a way to get dental work done using medical insurance instead of dental insurance?

My employer offers dental coverage AFTER a 12 month waiting period. I have been to a dentist a few months ago and he is concerned about a lesion I have on my gums behind my two bottom teeth. He recommended a periodontist, but I don't have dental insurance and that is a dental specialist.

My primary care doctors suggested seeing an ENT... Does anyone know any other route I could take? Perhaps an oral surgeon? I am worried that I may lose my teeth if I don't take care of this soon! :0(

  1. Many dental offices take CARE CREDIT a healthcare financing credit card....ask around....

It is like a credit card and you just make payment....

    google it.

  2. I was once in that situation with college though. I needed coverage ASAP but I would have to wait 6-12 months. Then I found this great plan that I signed up for online over 5 years ago now. www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com They have saved me thousands from root canals, extractions, cleanings..etc. All services are included in this very affordable plan. Periodontist and oral surgeons are included. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. hope this helps.

  3. Ask your dentist to give you a referral to the local dental school, they are very competant and next to nothing with regards to charges.
