Question:

Dental Payment Plan with Capital One

My fiance, to get a payment plan, would need to have capital one. However, she cannot get this unless she makes 15k within a year. She works part time, therefore, she does not gross that within a given year. She is 20 years of age and I was wondering if capital one had something like a co-sign. Such as with needing credit to get a phone or apartment and if you dont, you need someone to co-sign for you.

I was just wondering if her father, who makes way over that, could do something like that just so that they will give her the payment plan. It should be easy to make payments. Just getting the payment plan is tricky right now given she doesnt make that much in a year... (and what she needs it for should be more than simple to pay off through such a plan).

Thanks.

  1. My dentist had suggested getting a loan from Care Credit. I never applied for it but it is supposed to be interest free. Here is the link for the website. You can probably also get an application from your dentist unless all he supplies is that Capital One card thing. I attached a link for that also. It isn't interest free. I am sure that if one of your parents would co-sign with you that it would be better because usually rates are lower for someone who has a good credit history. Anyway, here is the link for the Care Credit. Good luck.

  2. Medical payment plans generally have higher interest rates than a basic credit card.  Other options should be explored.  A personal loan from her bank, if she owns a car she could finance it and of course, a credit card not tied to a medical plan.

If she has good credit any of these might be available.  Also, perhaps the dentist would let her pay over time - generally requiring a significant down payment.  This would likely be the best deal yet - for your fiance and for the dentist.

As far as your specific question - it should be directed to Capital One.  Good luck & I hope that you are able to use credit carefully.
