I know this is a vague question but how much does a dentist owning his own practice make? Say it is in a pretty good neighborhood with a moderate amount of patients

  1. Usually dentists own their own practice, and what they make depends soley on what their expenses are.  A dentist who has been in practice for many years is way ahead for these reasons.  I knew a dentist that made enough money over time that he didn't worry about collections--just took what people could afford or their insurance money.

Some dentists are hired by other dentists and are paid by the hour, the patient, or salaried.  I knew a dentist who was paid by the patient, and his pay would range from $0. a day to $1000.  He had lots of student loans to pay off..

  2. depends on the treatments they do and how fast they work. here in the uk on average its between £60,000-£140,000 a yr but i know of dentists makin 250,000 a yr
