Ok so i had a molar pulled on 7/26 and a wisdom tooth pulled on 8/4 all on the bottom and the same side. My question is i still have alittle swelling and a small lump/knot on that side , the knot/lump is sortof on my jawbone. The knot/lump is not painful nor getting any bigger. Before i had the teeth pulled my cheek would swell about the same as it is now but only when the teeth would start hurting , i really never paid that much attention if the swelling went down. The wisdom tooth was decayed along with the molar so i know its better off now that they are out!! I was on penicllin with the first molar extraction then 5 days later he had me come back in because i called and told them about the knot/lump and swelling so he switched me to keflex 500mg been on it since 7/31 but told me everything looked good , is there a reason why the swelling has not went down , it is not getting worse but isnt going down. I called back yesterday and talked with my dentist and he said finish all the antibotics and it the lump or swelling gets worse call him , well it aint getting worse but how long could it take to go down and for the lump to go away , i did smoke after i had them pulled , not to smart i know .. And please dont say its cancer or etc because i done ruled that out!! Thank you

  1. you need to see a doctor

  2. I think that you have to talk to a dentist

    hope you feel better

  3. its normal after da extraction of wisdom tooth as more pressure application is there....u dnt need 2 wry ... abt the swelling it will subside with in a week or so.. u can apply ice packs.....c ya .. tc

  4. You can have your dentist take a look at things.  Most likely the swelling is from the trauma of the two extractions. Sometimes swelling from extractions takes a while to go down. It does not sound like you have an infection. Be patient.
