Are cyst painful? I had a molar pulled 7/26 and a wisdom tooth pulled on 8/4and the day after the molar was pulled i noticed a small knot/lump on my left jawbone around where the molar tooth used to be, the knot/lump is not painful , tender , sore etc , i am not running a fever , dont have the chills etc either, i called my dentist about 3 days after i noticed it and he had me come in , he looked inside my mouth and said everything looked good, He said i had an infection from the back wisdom tooth and the tooth that was in front of the molar he pulled , i went ahead and had the wisdom tooth pulled on 8/4 , i didnt get a knot/lump around that part of the jaw only where the molar was , The molar tooth took longer to get out and felt alot of pressure on the other hand the wisdom tooth came right out with one or two pulls , it felt like it took atleast 2 mins to get the molar out. could this knot/lump be just be trauma to my jaw where the molar was harder to get out? I finished all my antiboitics which were keflex 500mg this morning , i have no pain in the extraction sites or in my jaw. I am just curious if this is something serious or will it go away on its own , So could it be a cyst or abscess or just trauma from where the molar was pulled ??? Thanks to all in advance

  1. i have had an abscess that didn't hurt much at all. the kind of pain that isn't worth taking a painkiller, and it happened only once in a while.
