Dentist!! Dont wanna go..but I do!

I really NEED to go to the dentist. I am a fifteen year old girl and I'm scared! I have not yet made an appointment because:

a.) I admit I don't brush my teeth nearly as much as I should and they are not as white as I'd like them to be.

b.) I know I have cavities and I have a fear of hearing the dentist saying I have 10 .

c.) I haven't been since I was younger going to a kids dentist! Probably 3rd grade..10th now. (I know..bad.)

I'm just really afraid of being judged by the dentist. I know I need to take better care of my teeth and I have now began brushing 3 times a day and flossing.

My teeth are straight and I love them, that's why I want to go.

I'm just really nervous. Hoping the dentist has seen worse!

  1. Don't be afraid. Dentists won't judge you. Trust me, they've seen EVERYTHING. There's nothing to be scared of. The sooner you go, the better it will be. And if you don't, your teeth will fall out when you get older. Good luck!

  2. The sooner you go, the easier it will be to fix your cavities. Trust me, I waited too long and had to have several root canals and complications as a result. Having a toothache is the worst pain I have experienced. It's not too late, you're young. If you want to keep your teeth for as long as possible, and if you really love your teeth, see a dentist. Good luck!

  3. its ok once u find the right dentist it isnt that bad. i have/had ur fears. i still dont brush my teeth nearly as much as i should and havent had a cavity in almost 3 yrs.   dont be afraid of the dentist tellin u have 10 cavities bc im one of those ppl who had 10 cavities but they were small so nothing bad. and the dentist should and will not judge u btu the the dentist should guide u to the right track .

  4. a stitch in time saves 10. Get it fixed or you will land up seeing him more often for root canal treatments.
