Is it true that if you go in to have your teeth cleaned and you have not had an x-ray in the past yr.. by law they must do x-rays or they cannot clean your teeth?

Is this a dentistry law or do the laws vary by state?

Or maybe this is the dentist own law?

  1. It is a law, because it put the Dentist at risk for a law suit. He needs to know the condition that your teeth are in before he do any work.  Its just like going to a surgeon and asking him to perform a procedure without knowing where the problem is first.
