My wisdom teeth are erupted on top and I have a molar on bottom that is cracked in half (but never bothered me for the last 5 years). I'm very nervous about surgery, to say the least. Is there a certain type of dentist or dental surgeon that would work out for a wuss like me?

  1. try sleep dentistry.

  2. Tell then you'll sue if they hurt you. haha jk.

Suck it up and deal with it.

  3. Ive got the same problem, I just force myself to go, but its really about the dentist, ask around to your friends or family and ask whos the best dentists are. when you do find a good dentist ask if he/she can talk to the assistant while your getting work done, it helps the enviroment and believe me you feel more comfortable and more relax and not thinking of anything bad..like your in their conversation..less pressure. Sometimes dentist have tv and you can watch a movie while getting worked on and thats a good way to forget whats going on..new technology these days, dentists arent that bad. good luck...

  4. when i was 8 the dentist did not scare me so have some one go with you that way it wont be you and strangers!!! You can also be put to sleep while there fixing your teeth.Hope I helped bye!!!

  5. dont worry the dentist will say "everything is alright" cause they know wat they r doing. if it doesnt help, try thinking of ur favorite things in life, 4 example, pets, foods, or family members.

  6. You can always ask around.See whose name comes up. If you wisdom teeth are erupted, that is out and visible, they are usually a breeze to have out. Wisdom teeth that are impacted are the problem. You should get your teeth taken care of. Think how scary it would be to wake up one morning and look in the mirror and find yourself toothless!!! It's not worth being that scared.  Good Luck. Moth

  7. You can go to your dentist and they can give you a list of different oral surgeons in your area. You can call them and they can give you info about their company. They most likely would have a website so you can research on there. There are also sites that will let you see the ratings of certain companies or surgeons. there are many sites that are listed when searching on google. One site that came up is healthgrades.com

    check it out!

the dentist group I go to is the Nantson dental group

    gluck

p.s. if you find the right place for YOU, then all your anxiety will disappear. plus they'll probably knock you out and you wont feel pain at all jeje!

  8. Just go they will give you anesthetics i know it can be nerve wracking going to the dentist sometimes(especially if you have no idea what they're gonna do)have a friend go with you it really helps!

  9. Sounds like you are going to need an oral surgeon.  Trust me when I say there is no bigger "WUSS" than I. Fortunately, I have found the best dentist ever. Before I found him I had the dentist prescribe me a very small dose of valium before my visit. This helped me immensely. In addition, I have  heard about new procedures such as a painless drill etc...that have come about in the past few years. There are so many new procedures for eliviating pain. I suggest that you consult with a few dentist to see what they offer in the method of 'painless dentistry.
