Denver Broncos LB Von Miller excited by QB Peyton Manning's arrival - NFL News
The Denver Broncos have had an action packed offseason as they brought in veteran quarterback, Peyton Manning and released Tim Tebow to the New York Jets.
The moves surprised everyone since the Broncos had earlier announced that Tebow was their starting quarterback heading into training camp.
Vice President of football operations, John Elway though rushed to bring Manning to the Mile High City as soon as the four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) became available and shipped out Tebow after confirming his signing.
Broncos’ linebacker, Von Miller was unhappy to see Tebow leave but in an interview on Wednesday said that Manning’s arrival opens a world of possibilities up for the franchise.
“It was pretty crazy because I felt like we already had our quarterback with Tim. It was surreal. We went from having our quarterback to not having our quarterback to having our quarterback. I'm happy that we got Peyton but unhappy that we got rid of Tim.
Whenever you get a chance to get a guy like Peyton Manning, you have to take advantage of it."
Denver certainly did just that and Manning’s arrival has already got fans dreaming about playoff victories and Super Bowl matches.
Miller added that Manning’s health problems which kept him out from taking a snap for the entire 2011-12 season are not a big deal and the Broncos medical staff would have done their homework before giving him the go-ahead.
I don't think the health stuff is a big issue. He's been cleared by his doctors... We don't need him to be better than the Peyton Manning he was before. We just need him to be somewhat the same."
The Broncos led by Tebow turned around what looked like a season going down the drains last year to win the American Football Conference (AFC) West division title and qualify for the wildcard rounds of the playoffs.
Denver upset the heavily favoured Pittsburgh Steelers in the wildcard round after a stunning 29-23 overtime victory but were hammered in the divisional round by the New England Patriots.
Miller said that Manning’s arrival will help the team become better and do things that they could never have achieved before with Tebow.
It is going to be a big season for the Denver Broncos in 2012-13 and all eyes will be on them and Manning.
