Denver Broncos LB Von Miller unimpressed with QB Robert Griffin III - NFL News
Robert Griffin III has gotten rave reviews from scouts and team officials who observed the young Baylor University quarterback during the National Football League (NFL) Combine as well as on his pro-day.
The excitement about Griffin’s wonderful abilities and his major role in taking his university to its first college bowl since 1994 made the Washington Redskins trade their number six overall pick with the St. Louis Rams to get into second and have a shot
at drafting the quarterback.
Griffin also was the first Baylor University player to be awarded the Heisman Trophy and is considered to be with Stanford’s Andrew Luck as the best quarterback available in this year’s drafts.
However, one current NFL player is not too impressed with the Baylor graduate.
Denver Broncos linebacker, Von Miller who played against Griffin during his time with Texas A&M criticised the quarterback in an interview with ProFootballWeekly.com
"He can throw the ball pretty well, and he's fast. But if you hit him enough times, he's going to wear down. He can run and throw, but I wouldn't put him in that same class as (Michael) Vick, Cam (Newton) or (Josh) Freeman."
The young linebacker added further.
"I'm hoping he can prove me wrong."
Miller was taken by Denver second overall in the 2011 drafts and has become a stalwart of the Broncos defence that was praised for its ability to stop the opponents from scoring many points as the offence struggled due to the poor passing of quarterback,
Tim Tebow.
The Broncos linebacker was full of praise for his old teammate and another talented quarterback in this year’s drafts, Ryan Tannehill.
"He can do everything you want from a QB,"
He also added.
“Tannehill is also a very mature guy. He graduated with a degree in biology before his senior year and knows how to be a great leader. Right when he came in, we started to play better as a team."
It seems like a case of college rivalries as Miller when asked why he does not like Griffin said that he cannot say anything good about a player from Baylor University.
Both players will not face each other in the upcoming season as the Broncos do not play the Redskins in 2012 but in the future Griffin would love to prove himself differently to Miller when the two meet sometime in the future.
