Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning continues to impress at OTAs - NFL News
The Denver Broncos Organised Team Activities (OTAs) are this year getting a lot of attention from news media and the biggest reason for that is four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) Peyton Manning.
Manning’s sessions at the Broncos OTAs are under the limelight 24/7 by news media with even a single interception during practice being scrutinised by the media.
This attention is something new for the veteran quarterback and after taking part in practice on Monday he commented on the attention his practice sessions are receiving this year.
"I've never had to comment on incompletions at practice before. This is new to me."
However, the quarterback has looked brilliant in training since joining the Broncos and coach, John Fox, is highly impressed with how the quarterback is coming along.
Speaking to the media, Fox said that the Broncos passing game has taken a huge leap from last season, since Manning arrived.
“I think our passing game is way further along than it was this time a year ago, obviously, because we weren't even here. Again, we're not keeping stats now, we're just installing and getting guys a comfort level."
After spending 13 seasons leading the Indianapolis Colts offence, Manning remained sidelined for the entirety of the Colts 2011-12 campaign as he recovered from multiple neck surgeries.
Indianapolis ended up with a disappointing 2-14 record due to Manning’s absence, and the franchise took a decision to look to the future as they released their veteran quarterback and face of the franchise while picking, Stanford quarterback, Andrew Luck
with their number one overall draft pick.
Manning signed with the Broncos after working out for a number of teams and his arrival in the Mile High City has already got fans dreaming about the Super Bowl.
The quarterback is still looking to find his comfort zone and continues to undergo rehabilitation regularly to regain his arm strength.
However, he believes that the OTAs are a great way for him to get a feel for the Broncos offence and he is constantly learning and adapting.
"That's the good thing about these OTAs is you really see kind of where you are on certain plays because you are making different types of throws and so you're learning a lot and you can know what to continue to work on even harder in your rehab. And you
know, some things you may just not quite be ready for yet."
It will be an amazing experience to witness one of the greatest quarterbacks in the league once again on the field and the Broncos fans cannot wait for the start of the new season.
