Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning frustrated by questions over health - NFL News
The National Football League (NFL) is a rough sport and no one knows that better than quarterback Peyton Manning.
Manning did not take a single snap last season as he recovered from a neck injury and even now when he has made his return there are still questions regarding his health.
The quarterback this offseason was signed up by the Denver Broncos after they beat off competition from a number of other franchises to secure the veteran’s services.
Manning has looked great in training and is making accurate passes but he will not face the same intensity of a football game on the practice field.
This has led many analysts to speculate about how Manning will cope when he will get hit during a game.
Many have cast doubt whether the veteran will be able to cope with the impact so soon after recovering from injury.
Manning has been asked the question a number of times in recent interviews and the quarterback now looks to be getting tired about the constant questions on his health.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday Manning said about the topic:
"It's not hanging over me. It seems to be a hot topic."
He further added visibly frustrated:
"I had a lady the other day say, 'Everybody just can't wait to see you get hit.' Thank you."
To put reporters’ questions to bed about his health Manning said that he will look to get back up on his feet when he gets hit and look to complete the pass on the next play.
"I have played football for a long time and when it happens I plan on getting up and hopefully completing the pass on the next play and moving the chains and at some point hopefully ya'll can stop asking me that question."
He also talked about his throws and said:
"It's hard to say. I've seen myself every day, I think sometimes guys that maybe haven't seen me as much, or are doing more comparisons probably give you a better answer for that.”
In the preseason game against Chicago Bears Manning played just a few minutes before being replaced and hopefully both analysts and fans will get a better look at the quarterback in the upcoming games.
