Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning settling in with new teammates - NFL News
New Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning is settling well with his new teammates.
The veteran quarterback just a few days after joining up with his new team had started unofficially practicing with his new teammates and in a video released on the Broncos official website the quarterback was happy with how the workouts turned out.
Manning said in the video that the workouts will help him a lot before the start of the official team training camp and the early practices will also be a great bonus in the regular season.
“It's going to pay dividends for you in the fall, when there's a third-and-5 and there's a pass pattern that you complete to Eric Decker. And you say, you know, 'We worked on that back in April and May, and that time we put in was worth it because it came
on a critical third-down conversion or a touchdown pass,' "
Early last week Broncos wide receiver, Eric Decker told the media that he was highly impressed with Manning’s professionalism and work ethic and that his arm strength looked perfect as he threw him some precise passes.
The quarterback went on to add that the offseason work is important and can make a big difference when the season starts.
He also said.
“I've enjoyed the time, getting to know these receivers, they're kind of getting to know me. It's a marathon, no question about it -- it's not a sprint. And we do have some time, and the more we can do it, the better off we're going to be."
The veteran’s arrival at the franchise certainly has brought some great expectations at the Broncos who will hope that Manning can regain his past form and help them reach the playoffs and even reach the Super Bowl.
The Broncos ended up 8-8 last season with former quarterback, Tim Tebow and won the American Football Conference (AFC) West division title while also reaching the playoff wildcard rounds.
They were knocked out at the division round by the New England Patriots after a disappointing performance but this year Denver feel that they have all the cogs in place to go one better.
