Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning takes part in first day of training - NFL News
After spending a whole season without taking a single snap and starting the offseason in free agency it has been a very different year for quarterback, Peyton Manning.
Now signed with the Denver Broncos after being courted by multiple franchises for his services, Manning is happy to put all that uncertainty behind him and doing what he does best.
The quarterback was in the Broncos training facility on Monday as he took part in the strength and conditioning workouts.
Talking to the media after practice Manning said.
"Everybody's been looking forward to this day for some time now. I thought it was a productive first day, but we've got a lot of work to do."
The quarterback has been practicing with Broncos wide receivers well before the start of the official team workouts as he practiced at multiple high school fields with wide receiver, Eric Decker and his close friend, Brandon Stokley.
Manning was asked about his health but the veteran quarterback was in no mood to discuss a subject that has been talked about from the first time he signed his new contract with Denver.
"I'm not going to get into these weekly reports. I've kind of been there and done that all fall of last year.”
Adding further he said.
"I'm enjoying being under one roof, being supervised by those two guys,"
Eric Decker though believes there is no question about the quarterback’s fitness levels and arm strength and he told the media that Manning’s accuracy and throws remain perfect as always.
"I'm not his doctor, I don't know how to speak on his health, but catching balls from him, it looks like there's nothing wrong to me. He's throwing great balls, I see no issues at this point."
Manning was released by the Indianapolis Colts this offseason after their 13-year quarterback missed his first complete season through injury after undergoing multiple neck surgeries.
The quarterback though had no shortage of admirers as franchises tried their best to coax the four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) to join them.
Manning settled for Denver and his signing has raised hopes in the Mile High City for better times ahead.
The Broncos traded Tim Tebow to the New York Jets as soon as Manning put pen to paper and hopefully the veteran quarterback can fully overcome his health issues and fulfil the dream of every Denver fan.
