Denver Broncos VP John Elway looking for new QB as he scouts Brock Osweiler - NFL News
It seems that the Denver Broncos are looking for another quarterback this offseason as they continue to monitor emerging draft prospects ahead of April 26.
Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations, John Elway led a team of Broncos coaches including head coach John Fox to Arizona State University where draft prospect Brock Osweiler showcased his talents for the watching delegation.
Osweiler is one of the four big quarterback prospects that are available in this year’s drafts and many analysts have called him fourth best signal caller available.
The six-foot eight-inch tall quarterback is 21-years old and will be the fourth quarterback on the Broncos team after Peyton Manning, Caleb Hanie and rookie Adam Weber.
Osweiler has been getting rave reviews from scouts and analysts who monitored him during the National Football League (NFL) Combine with analyst Chad Reuter going as far as to consider him the fourth best available in the drafts.
Reuter wrote in an article this week.
"His pocket-passing game would make him a nice fit as a second-round pick for Denver, where he can utilize his strengths and learn behind new Broncos offensive leader Peyton Manning. The future Hall of Famer's multiple neck surgeries and age might lead the
team to find a young apprentice sooner than later."
The Broncos this year have undergone multiple changes at the quarterback position. Coach John Fox had at the end of the season announced that Tim Tebow would remain the starter in the new season for Denver but when Indianapolis Colts released Peyton Manning
as a free agent the Broncos jumped at the opportunity.
After weeks of wooing by Elway, Manning in the end decided to land at the Mile High City.
The franchise immediately looked to ship Tebow on and traded the quarterback to the New York Jets in return for a fourth and sixth round draft pick.
Denver also brought in ex-Chicago Bears backup quarterback Caleb Hanie into the roster as well and it seems that with Osweiler the franchise are looking to add a young prodigy for Manning to train.
The drafts will start on April 26 and will end on April 28. With the date coming closer teams are already scouting out prospects.
