Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas clarifies Tim Tebow comments - NFL News
Just a few days ago Denver Broncos wide receiver, Demaryius Thomas while talking on a radio show in Atlanta proclaimed that he was not sad to see the back of former quarterback, Tim Tebow.
However, on Friday it seems that the receiver has had a change of heart and talking to a Denver radio station tried to clarify his comments.
Thomas in the previous interview had said that he was not too sad to see the Broncos trade Tebow to the New York Jets.
He went on to say that fans just remember the one pass from Tebow in overtime of the American Football Conference (AFC) wildcard playoff game against Pittsburgh Steelers that turned out to be the game winner.
Tebow threw from the pocket to Thomas who rushed for an 80-yard touchdown and sent the Broncos to the divisional rounds.
Thomas said that except for that pass the quarterback passed up many open plays and he did not get the service he needed to make big plays.
Talking on Friday Thomas went on to clarify those comments and said that he was not trying to disparage the quarterback.
“When I had my interview, I wasn’t trying to go in the interview and just put Tebow down as a quarterback. I was just answering the questions.”
Adding further he said.
“It wasn’t no hard feelings or nothing against Tim. He’s a great player. If we had him, I’d love to have him. If we had him still, there wouldn’t be no problem me playing with him.”
He also said that looking at the reactions from fans and all the comments he is receiving after that interview, he will now look to stay away from the subject as much as possible.
“Yeah, that’s the only thing I’m gonna do now. I’m not even gonna talk about it. He’s with the New York Jets, I’m proud for him. I’ve got a new quarterback, and me now, it’s all about the Denver Broncos.”
Thomas now has a four time Most Valuable Player (MVP) in Peyton Manning to receive passes from and he is looking forward to a more productive season in 2012-13.
