Denver Broncos practicing new "hurry-up" offence with QB Peyton Manning - NFL News
Quarterback, Peyton Manning’s arrival at the Denver Broncos has led to big change in how the franchise will run its offence entering into the new season.
The franchise used an option based offence in the 2011-12 season which suited quarterback, Tim Tebow and his unorthodox style of play.
However, with Manning’s arrival the Broncos have now reverted to a hurry-up offence which the veteran quarterback perfected during his 13 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
Denver’s wide receivers, running backs and tight ends are adjusting to the new offence as they continue to practice with Manning in the offseason.
The quarterback has also brought leadership and experience to the side and the franchise expects great things in the upcoming season as they are led by the four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Wide receiver, Andre Caldwell who joined Denver from Cincinnati Bengals as a free-agent told the media about the impact of the new offence and sounded excited at the prospect.
"It's going to be great, because I played here last year. I ran the no-huddle offense at Cincinnati, and I was dead tired. So, I've got a feel for how the defence will react to it and how they will be feeling."
Manning has wasted no time in trying to get his new teammates on the same wavelength.
From his arrival in the Mile High City the quarterback has worked with wide receiver Eric Decker and other players so that everyone gets on the same page over the new tactics.
Linebacker Jonathan Mays cannot wait to be at the sidelines and watch Manning work his magic in the new season.
"Oh yeah, we're going to be in great shape. Peyton, he's got those guys working hard right now, just preparing themselves for the season. He's going to have those guys ready to work, ready to get going and I'm just looking forward to standing on the sideline
and watching."
The Broncos ended the 2011-12 season as the American Football Conference (AFC) West division champions and entered the playoffs moving forward to the divisional rounds.
This year with Manning leading the line, the whole franchise is excited at the possibilities which come with such an accomplished player.
It is going to be an awesome season as one of the best players in the league once again takes his place on the field and seeing him work his magic will be an experience.
