Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning reportedly showing fast recovery – NFL News
When the Denver Broncos offered veteran quarterback, Peyton Manning, a hefty contract earlier this offseason, they had to address just one concern, and it was related to Manning’s recovery from neck surgeries.
This was the only (or the most obvious) reason for the Indianapolis Colts to release the National Football League’s (NFL) only four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) after association of over a decade.
When Manning agreed to join the Broncos and started working out with them during organised team activities, he was reportedly doing well, but was far from his actual level that had made him the league’s superstar.
Nevertheless, Broncos look to be heading in the right direction now as recent reports suggest that Manning is recovering fast.
Broncos are done with their voluntary offseason activities and minicamp and are now waiting for start of their training camp, after which they will play preseason games.
With these two major activities left before the start of the regular season, an encouraging development is reported in Peyton’s case.
According to Mike Klis of The Denver Post, who observed the quarterback throughout the offseason workouts, Peyton’s arm strength is returning to its previous level quickly.
Considering the quarterback’s performance before sustaining the injury that forced him out of the entire 2011 season, Klis notes that he has recovered almost 85 to 90 percent.
Klis shared his observations while talking to PFT Live. He said of Peyton:
“He really came a long way in that four weeks," adding that the quarterback "threw crossing patterns with zip -- and on the money."
This development is encouraging for Broncos, who had to release the sensational, Tim Tebow, to adjust Manning into the team.
Tebow was the one, who led the Broncos into the playoffs last season and with Manning leading the offence, the team is expecting to surpass last year’s performance.
To do so, Peyton has to be completely fit and throwing with full strength, and if what is reported is correct then the Broncos must be jubilant.
That being said, Broncos and Manning must also keep in mind that other teams are going to come hard at them, and they must prepare well to counter that threat apart from helping Manning reach his previous level of form and fitness.
