Denver Broncos want to induct "impact" players to help QB Peyton Manning - NFL News
The Denver Broncos are preparing their notes and scouting reports on the talent available in this year’s drafts which begin on April 26th as they look to induct new talent into the team that will help new quarterback, Peyton Manning to lead the
franchise to glory.
The Broncos drafted Manning from free agency after spending weeks to woo the four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) to the Mile High City, and the quarterback has wasted no time in getting to work as he prepares the Denver offence for the new season.
Manning in addition to practicing with teammates is also guiding them on how to induct the new hurry-up offence.
The quarterback’s arrival has built up hope at Denver about the new season and now general manager, John Elway is looking to the draft to induct talent that can give Manning the best opportunity to lead the Broncos to the Super Bowl.
Denver holds the 25th overall pick in the first round of the draft.
Speaking at a pre-draft press conference on Monday, Elway said.
“I think the bottom line is we want to do the best thing to surround him with a team that’s going to give him an opportunity to win.”
However, Elway clarified that Manning will not be present in the Broncos war room during the drafts.
"Peyton has interest in what we do but Peyton is not involved in the draft process."
Adding further, the general manager said that he is looking to draft in players that can help out immediately in the new season and would have an impact on the field straight away.
“What we try to do is just see when we get to that position, who is left on the board. Then, if there are three or four guys that we like, compare them and see which would have the biggest impact and is going to have the biggest impact for our football team.”
These are exciting times at Denver and after winning the American Football Conference (AFC) West division last year, this time the Broncos have bigger prizes in their sight as they continue to prepare for the new 2012-13 season.
