Kobe was impressed by the fast game style of the Nuggets;
"The fast-break points, that's a killer. That team is like a track team over there. Their speed was something that was tough for us to adjust to all night long. They continually pushed the ball down our throats. Shots go up and
those guys are already leaking out, to go along with the speed. They got a lot of easy buckets because of it."
But that was not all of it. The Lakers were outrebounded 36-44 by the Nuggets, and they committed 15 turnovers in comparison to only 9 by the Nuggets. The biggest difference was the fast break points as Bryant mentioned, the Lakers
scored only 3 fast break points compared to 33 by Denver.
"Once they missed a shot it was like a jailbreak. Everybody was trying to get down the court and get a layup." Guard Lawson on the fast game play of his team.
The home team got off to a great start to the game. The Nuggets maintained their advantage till the end of the first quarter as they led 35-29 at period break.
The second period also had a similar pattern with Lakers committing way too many turnovers, resulting in easy buckets for the Nuggets. Lakers upped their game after the half time break and Bryant and company made a few shots early
in the third quarter. But the speedy Nuggets maintained their upper hand for the rest of the game to win comfortably.
