Denver Nuggets free agent Kenyon Martin chooses a new agent: NBA Update
On Monday night, veteran NBA player Kenyon Martin chose a new agent. Martin hired Andy Miller as his new agent.
Kenyon Martin, who has become unrestricted free agent this offseason, made a very smart choice to hire Miller. Miller has a vast professional experience in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and will help Martin to find
a better contract for his future. Miller is also representing the current Denver Nuggets star Chauncey Billups.
Forward Kenyon Martin last played for the Nuggets and now seeking another contract from some-other team in the league. The league has been locked out since July 1st and all the teams are watching closely regarding league
matters. All the teams have also plenty of time to prepare for the upcoming season and their managements are making different strategies to bring potential players into their roster in this offseason.
Martin has played for the Nuggets for almost seven years but last season was his final season with the Nuggets. Although, Martin had expressed his desire to stay with the Nuggets, but the Nuggets’ management did not give him any
extension on his contract.
“It’s not on me. My standpoint has been clear for a year now. … Wherever it’s going to be, if it’s Denver or somewhere else, I’m back in the gym working hard every day, so wherever it’s going to be, I’m going to be ready.”
Though, Martin was not able to impress the Nuggets’ management for extension in his contract, he had spent a memorable time in the Nuggets roster. He was traded from New Jersey Nets into the Denver Nuggets in 2003-2004 season and
played total seven years with the Nuggets. In his final season, he averaged 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds per game and played total 48 regular season’s games with five playoff games.
Before making into the NBA, Martin played for the Cincinnati Bearcats for almost four years. His defensive and offensive game inspired many in his college days where he won several awards. He started his professional basketball
career in 2000 when the New Jersey Nets selected him 1st overall in 2000 NBA draft in the first round.
