Denver Nuggets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder – NBA Preview
Two of the best teams of the Western Conference, Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets will come head to head at Pepsi Center on Tuesday night. Both the teams have already clinched the playoff berths and they are marching forward
stoutly for the upcoming showdown. The season series between the squads are tied to 1-1 and it will be exciting to see who ends the regular season on a high note.
The Nuggets are performing exceptionally in their recent meetings. The line-up has shown great strength and commitment and is firing on all cylinders. They will be setting foot on the court with six straight wins; two of them came
against the leading sides of the Conference San Antonio Spurs and Los Angela Lakers. Danilo Gallinari and Ty Lawson are supporting the team impressively and playing a substantial role in the recent dominating stretch.
Gallinari and Kenyon Martin combined for 40 points to spearhead Denver for a thrilling 95-90 victory over the two-time defending champions Lakers. The All-Star Kobe Bryant was once again the top scorer of the night, leading his
team with example and he landed 28 points to haunt the Nuggets extensively. Raymond Felton came off the bench at the right moment and carried the action with his 16 points to put Denver on the frontline.
Playoffs are just round the corner and the Nuggets are delivering a strong message by overpowering the top teams of the league. They are currently standing at the fifth spot in the West with 47 victories followed by 29 defeats.
The team carries an outstanding home record as they managed to win 31 games in 38 home meetings. The line-up has absolutely dominated the opposition at their home court which will be a big test for the Thunder.
In the last 10 games, Denver won eight games and they were overshadowed only two times which is well above their season’s winning percentage.
On the other hand, Oklahoma City will be arriving on Tuesday with two successive defeats behind their back. In their latest loss, the lowly Los Angeles Clippers gave an absolute shock to the Thunder by clouting them 98-92 at Staples
Center on Saturday.
Clippers superstar Blake Griffin truly had an impressive night with the ball as he landed 26 points and gathered 16 rebounds to thrash Kevin Durant’s line-up. The Thunders were leading the game comprehensively 49-37 in the first
half when the spectators witnessed an exciting turnaround. The Clippers took the possession of the ball aggressively after the halftime and outplayed Oklahoma City.
OKC is standing at the fourth spot in the Western Conference with 50 wins and 26 defeats. On the road, the team has won 22 games and 16 times they were defeated. In the last 10 games, the squad managed to finish the game seven
times successfully.
Although, Oklahoma City had a couple of bad games however they have the tendency to strike back powerfully. Both the teams will set foot on the court with sheer determination as this will give them a chance to play a practice game
before the fast approaching face-off.
