Denver Nuggets win 112-107 against Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Denver Nuggets this Wednesday at the Pepsi Centre.
An attendance of around 17,000 fans came to witness the match and it lasted for two hours and fourteen minutes. The lead changed hands 7 times and the scores were tied on 9 occasions.
The match started off with both teams making a decent start to the match. Offence and defence for both teams was good at the start. Points were scored regularly and blocks were also made by both teams.
During the course of the first quarter Denver Nuggets scored 27 points while Oklahoma City Thunder scored 24 points. Nene and Carmelo Anthony were both in good form and scored points for Denver and went into the second quarter in the lead.
The second quarter saw both teams coming out strong offensively and decent on the defence. The ball went up and down the court and points were scored regularly.
During the course of the second quarter Oklahoma City Thunder scored 31 points while the Denver Nuggets scored 28 points. The scores at the end of the quarter were level on 55-55 each. Kevin Durant was the leading scorer for the Thunder in the quarter.
The third quarter was again a reflection of the second quarter, which saw the Denver Nuggets matching the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both teams went on the attack from the start. Points were scored from everywhere on the court.
During the course of the quarter Denver Nuggets scored 30 points while Oklahoma City Thunder scored 31 points. The score at the end of the period saw the Oklahoma City Thunder leading 86-85 with some splendid three pointers scored during the quarter.
The final quarter of the match saw both teams defending very well and getting strong as the quarter neared its end. Though there were fewer points scored during the course of the quarter, it was the Denver Nuggets, who won the match scoring 27 points, compared
to 21 points of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The match ended with the Denver Nuggets winning the match 112-107.
Carmelo Anthony was the top scorer of the match with 35 points.
Russell Westbrook was top scorer for the Oklahoma City Thunder with 28 points with Kevin Durant following closely with 22 points.
